Gesture Typing in Android

What is Gesture Typing?


This typically is the main question that strike over mind when we hear about the latest update in "Jelly Beans 4.2". So in this post we will tell you the working of gesture typing and why Google is saying that, "typing would be a lot more easier and fun".



So basically the gesture typing has been updated in jelly beans 4.2 by gesture typing, your android will print the word you want to type. You just need to glide over the letters you want to enter and you don't have to even worry about the blank spaces, the application will automatically handle the spaces.
The steps are:
  • Touch the location where you want to enter the text
  • Slide your finger slowly through the letters that are in your word
  • Your word will automatically gets displayed over the screen and then select it
  • And you don't even have to worry about the blank spaces

Enabling/Disabling the gesture typing

By default, gesture typing is enabled in Android 4.2 or later.
To change it manually, you can follow this step
  • Settings > Language & input > Keyboard & input methods > Android keyboard
  • Then touch Settings > Gesture typing > Enable gesture typing
