February Has got 28 days

Why February Has got 28 days??

Sometimes a question arises in our mind that why only February has 28 days only and 29 days in the leap year??

But we haven't tried to search out for the reason. So, we will tell you that why ferbruary has got 28 days and 29 days in the leap year. Basically there are 2 reasons for it.
  • Scientifically the earth completes its orbital year in 365.2425 days. So to divide it into months, we have got 12 months but in february it has got 28 days that can complete 365 days and after the completion of 4 years, 1 day is added to after 4 years gap i.e. in the leap year february has 29 days.

  • Religiously actually our modern calendar is quite similar to the Romans calendar. Actually some believe that Augustus Caesar's birthday fell in the month of August (which only had 30 days back then) while Julius Caesar was born in July and his birth month had 31 days. So Caesar took one day from the month of February and added it on to August. That left February with only 28 days, except for leap year.

HTC Butterfly: First Look

HTC Butterfly X920d

Design and Color

Being an smartphone with 5-inch display the first thing that strikes or mind is it heavy? But to check that it's litter than the android phones of HTC like One X. The Butterfly is completely sealed off so you can’t remove the battery. All entry points to the SIM slot, SD card and USB port are covered with flaps. This prevents dust build-up over time but is also terribly annoying to use, especially the flap for the micro SIM tray.

It comes in 3 colors i.e. Red, White and Black

Interface
The HTC Butterfly runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 along with a Sense 4+ mask. The panel type is Super LCD 3 and boasts of an impressive 1920 x 1080p resolution, giving it a pixel count of 441ppi. This is double the resolution you get from any of the other flagship phones in the market. But Samsung galaxy S4 has also got the same resolution. So it will be quite interesting to see both the phones together and then checking out the performance.

Apple IPad 128GB To Go On Sale from Feb 5

The Apple iPad 128GB has come with a Retina Display. The new size of iPad was recently rumored but now, it is confirmed for the 4th generation iPad model.

Apple will offer the 128 GB tablet PC in both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi plus Cellular models starting from Feb 5. These units are available in both black and white colour.
The new ultimate iPad will be available at Apple retail stores & through the Apple online store & at authorized Apple iPad retailers.
While most users likely will not be willing to spend $799 for a only Wi-Fi device or $929 for the cellular models, Apple is heading the units towards enterpreuner customers and high-end users. The company hopes to target professionals in the creative and medical industries.
In an official Apple press release for the 128GB iPad, Apple SVP, Phil Schiller says
“With more than 120 million iPads sold, it is clear that customers around the world really love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs. With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs.”
The move to introduce a new device offering mid-cycle is strange for Apple. However, Apple has continued to lose market share to Google Android Devices and several studies have recently shown slipping interest in Apple devices. By offering a mid-cycle release, Apple can boost interest in a line that has not been updated in four months.
Releasing of Apple iPad 128GB also allows Apple to more closely compete with Microsoft at a time when the Surface Pro tablet PC is preparing to release with full version of Windows 8. MS is said to be targeting the high-end and enterprise market to which Apple is now appearing to be focusing its best efforts.

Google pays to Apple: $1 Billion

Google May Pay Apple $1 Billion to Remain iPhone's Default Search Engine

Since the decade of technology, there has been an tough competition between google and apple to be on the top of the smart phones technology. But considering the network and other sides, google has always dominated over apple in bringing new technology to the reach of common people and in much less price. So now it will be interesting to see why google may pay $1 billion to apple

Google has always paid Apple a fee for being the go-to search engine on iOS devices, but never this much. As recently as 2009, Google paid *just* $82 million for the privilege. To put the $1 billion in perspective, Google pays the Mozilla Foundation $400 million to be the default search engine on the Firefox browser. They also have a deal with Opera, but we don't know how much they ask for.
While it may seem like a lot of money, Google generates more revenue from iOS products than from Android. Android generated less than $550 million in revenue for Google between 2008 and end-of 2011. Apple devices generated Google more than four times that amount over the same period.
The fact that the amount Google is paying Apple has jumped from $100 million to $1 billion over the course of the year indicate that Apple may have rejected Google's first offer, or that the company is working on their own search function and want to see how much they can squeeze out of Google before they unveil it. Or, more likely, Apple thinks itself as king and knows it can charge whatever the hell they want.
So now it will be more interesting to see that which will be the search engine on iOS devices whether it is Google, Bing or Apple's own search engine. Lets find it out in the upcoming months.

Developing for Windows Phone 7 and Android

Now a days, alot many developers want to go to the android or windows phone 7 development, but are confused from which to choose firstly.

So for them i have an example that will help them to see the similarities and dissimilarities between windows phone and android's programming.

Windows Phone Emulator and Android Emulator
Mishkin from the Dirty Developer blog has posted a nice article comparing the main differences and similarity between the Windows Phone 7 and Android development platforms. He build a simple unit converter for WP7 and Android 2.2 to show you exactly how things look like on the inside:
The Android Platform and Windows Phone 7 share a lot of commonalities. It will take a while to get used to migrating from Android + Eclipse to Windows Phone 7 + Microsoft Visual Studio + Expression Blend but in the end it is a much smoother development experience. The tools which Microsoft provide add a wealth of ease to the lives of us developers.

Bringing the Open Web to mobile devices

With the advancement in newer technologies, firefox is also trying some hands in mobile applications. So after years of android launch, firefox introduced its Operating System for mobile named "Firefox OS"

New Web standards

Firefox OS will produce an implementation of these new Web standards to free mobile platforms from the encumbrances of the rules and restrictions of existing proprietary platforms.

Freedom from proprietary mobile platforms

We’re collaborating with OEMs and carriers directly, giving them more influence to meet the specific needs of their users and market. Users and developers aren’t locked in to one platform, so they can access their info and use apps across multiple devices.

Customization for OEMs and operators

OEMs and operators will be able to provide content and services across their entire device portfolio, regardless of OS. And they will be able to customize user experiences, manage app distribution and retain customer attention, loyalty and billing relationships.

Opportunities for developers

Using HTML5 and the new Mozilla-proposed standard APIs, developers everywhere will be able to create amazing experiences and apps. Developers will no longer need to learn and develop against platform-specific native APIs.
